Coober Pedy (Kupa Piti, 'white man in a hole') is situated on the edge of the erosional scarp of the Stuart Ranges and is the Opal Capital of the world supplying 80-85% of the world's opals;

Oasis Tourist Park is situated in the main street of Coober Pedy and is within a short walking distance to the Opal and Tourist shops. Oasis is the only tourist park in Coober Pedy with Drive-Thru Water Sites for guests requiring water connection, Ensuite Powered Sites and Fully Self-Contained Cabins. The amenities have been considered the most spacious and best in South Australia.

The indoor swimming pool is open 8.00am- 10.00pm all year round. Town & Mine Tours and Breakaways Sunset Tours leave daily, these are approx. 3 hours in our air conditioned Tour Bus, an experience not to be missed! Our Tour guide also speaks Austrian and German.

Reception is open from 8:00am until 8: 00pm; late guests can phone 08 8672 5169 for assistance. Local indigenous art is displayed and can be purchased from reception as well as other Coober Pedy souvenirs, cold drinks, ice. The Supermarket is a 2 minute walk away and is open until 8.00pm weekly and 7.00pm Sundays. Restaurants and opal shops are a 4 minute walk, ask at reception about discounts.
We are able to assist with all mechanical problems, tyres and batteries etc.

Underground accommodation in a spacious 4 bedroom display home can be arranged at Reception for guests wanting to experience underground living. For guests flying into Coober Pedy, pick-up and return transport to the Airport can be arranged at reception.

Coober Pedy is very unique and historical town and offers many attractions for visitors, try your luck and fossick for your own opal, visit underground homes and churches, visit the stunning Breakaways and enjoy the magnificent views at sunset, the Dingo Fence, the longest dog fence in the world, Moon Plains and Mica fields where many movies have been filmed including Mad Max, Pitch Black and Priscilla Queen of the Desert or take a tour of the Painted Desert. Coober Pedy is also the gateway to Oodnadatta and William Creek.

Coober Pedy hosts the Opal Festival and the Great Breakaways Bolt, a 35 km walk, run, ride from the Breakaways into Coober Pedy.
